"Barcelona" center-back Jeremy Mathieu admitted that he was surprised by the coach's decision to play on the left side of defense in the "El Clasico" match.
The 30-year-old footballer has been playing in the center-back position for the Catalan team since the beginning of the season, but against Madrid's "Real" club, Luis Enrique decided to place the Frenchman on the flank, a decision that received criticism.
"I was surprised", said J. Mathieu about L. Enrique's decision. - But that's the coach's job and only he decides where I should play".
The former "Valencia" player also spoke about the game that ended in defeat: "We started the match well, but we couldn't withstand the opponent's counterattacks. After the second goal, we completely collapsed."
