Four matches of the 14th round were played in Spain's La Liga on Sunday.
A real surprise was recorded in the Spanish capital, where Madrid's Getafe faced off against Valencia, who were aiming for the title this season. The "Wing Sparrows" failed to take advantage of "Valencia's" equal numbers and unexpectedly suffered a defeat.
In the 25th minute, "Getafe" was left to play with ten men, as within four minutes, the home team's defender received two yellow cards and was forced to finish the match.
"Valencia" gained a numerical advantage, but failed to take advantage of it - the opponents attacked quite aggressively and in the 66th minute managed to score a winning goal.
It was the first failure of the season for Valencia. The "Wing Sparrows" now have a 5-point gap from "Barcos", with "Atletico" behind them reducing the gap to a point.
In other matches, "Villarreal" also experienced a somewhat unexpected failure, "Eibar" confidently defeated Barcelona's "Espanyol", and "Las Palmas" defeated Seville's "Real Betis" by a minimal margin.
