Portugal's Primeira Liga is approaching the straight finish line. "Porto" could secure the "Primeira Liga" title with a win today, but instead they lost their "untouchable" status. Throughout the season, Sergio Conceicao's team marched undefeated in the Portuguese league, but in the 31st round they had to acknowledge the superiority of a solid "Braga" team - 0:1. "Braga" having a solid season, is likely to return to the Europa League next season, and the goal scorer in these matches was Ricardo Horta. "Porto", unable to secure the title, allowed the "Sporting" team to reduce the deficit to 6 points. The Lisbon team defeated "Boavista" 3-0 away - goals were scored by Matheus Nunes and Bruno Tabata, while the hosts' defender Rodrigo Abascal scored an own goal. For the "Sporting" players, this was an important victory in securing 2nd place in the "Primeira Liga". 2nd place guarantees a direct ticket to the next season's Champions League battles. In 3rd place is "Benfica", who will likely have to play in the CL qualification rounds. 4th place is occupied by the "Braga" players.
