Which other clubs will join the ranks of the innovators? At least one Portuguese team will not be among them - the "Porto" team announced their refusal to join the giants. "We received contacts from some clubs, but we did not pay much attention to them. First of all, the European Union does not allow the creation of closed leagues like the NBA. In addition, the Portuguese Football Federation opposes it, and as UEFA members, we cannot participate where the rules and principles of the European Union and UEFA are violated," explained "Porto" president Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa. "Let's look at it from another perspective and look at teams like "Bayern", "Ajax", or PSG. If we belong to UEFA, we cannot think that we must follow in the footsteps of clubs leaving it."
