Portugal suffers victory over Czech Republic

The Portuguese national team started the 2024 European Football Championship with a hard-fought victory.

The 2016 European champions defeated the Czech Republic 2-1 in the opening match.

In the first half, Portugal controlled the field, but it didn't produce tangible results.

In the second half, the situation essentially remained the same, but the Czechs delivered an unexpected blow to their opponents in the 62nd minute when Lukas Provod scored a goal.

The score became level in the 69th minute when Czech defender Robin Hranac deflected the ball into his own net.

Portugal sealed the victory in the 92nd minute with a goal from Francisco Conceicao, who came on as a substitute.
