According to Deloitte, Premier League clubs set spending records this summer.
The teams from the highest division in England spent a total of 870 million pounds this summer, surpassing the record set last year when clubs spent 835 million pounds on player acquisitions.
Manchester City was the most generous team this summer, paying a staggering 160 million pounds for new players - also a record in England for a single transfer window.
This summer, clubs reached a new level of spending in the transfer market, using rapidly increasing revenues to acquire new players," said Alex Thorpe from Deloitte's sports business division.
"The total spending in 2015, including the winter, exceeded a billion pounds, which is also a record," said Thorpe.
Thorpe also acknowledged that the increased TV broadcasting rights were the main reason for these records.
