On Friday, the big football day has started - a new season of the English Premier League. The season's curtain was lifted at Anfield stadium where last season's runners-up Liverpool faced Championship winners Norwich City. In the first half, the "Reds" showed their strength and began the season in the league with a convincing 4-1 victory. Jurgen Klopp's players started dominating from the beginning of the match. The first goal of the 2019-20 season didn't take long to arrive - an own goal by Norwich defender Grant Hanley. In the 19th minute, Mohamed Salah increased the lead to two goals after Roberto Firmino's pass, and nine minutes later, Virgil van Dijk added another goal after a corner kick. Norwich's nightmare in the first half didn't end - the returning "Canaries" conceded for the fourth time when Divock Origi scored in the 42nd minute. Liverpool's superb performance in the first half was overshadowed by Alisson's injury. Due to knee problems, he left the field and was replaced by Adrian, who joined the club just a week ago. In the second half, the hosts remained active but Norwich didn't let in any more goals. Unlike the first half, in the 64th minute, the visitors managed to score a consolation goal through Teemu Pukki's precise shot. In the Premier League, nine more matches will be played over the weekend - six on Saturday and the remaining three on Sunday. Result: Liverpool 4 - 1 Norwich 7' [1 - 0] G. Hanley (own goal) 19' [2 - 0] M. Salah 28' [3 - 0] V. van Dijk 42' [4 - 0] D. Origi 64' [4 - 1] T.
