"Premier" league: First "Chelsea" loss © EuroFootball.com

Yesterday, eight matches of the 9th round of the "Premier" league were played. Let's briefly review each of them.

The first defeat in the championship was experienced by London's "Chelsea," who lost to "Manchester City" away. The only goal from a penalty kick from eleven meters was scored by Frenchman Nicolas Anelka in the 11th minute. This victory helped the Manchester team rise to ninth place in the tournament table.

The league leader, "Arsenal," continues without defeats, defeating "Aston Villa" at home with a score of 3–1. Meanwhile, one of the possible candidates for the champion title last season, "Manchester United," lost two more points away playing against the "Birmingham City" team. This was the second consecutive draw for the "Red Devils" in the league.

"Middlesbrough" crushed "Blackburn" away with a score of 4-0. The away team's forward J.F.Hasselbaink scored three goals, while Blackburn's player K.Tunga received a red card.

Two table neighbors at the top of the table, "Everton" and "Bolton," won with the same score of 1-0. The former forced "Southampton" to surrender, while the latter defeated "Chrystal Palace."

The match between "Fulham" and "Liverpool" stood out with a wealth of goals. "Fulham" took the lead after two goals from B.A.Morte with a score of 2-0. But "Liverpool" showed strong character and managed to win with a score of 4-2.
