London's "Arsenal" and "Chelsea" clubs legend Petr Čech announced that this season is his last in his career.
The 36-year-old goalkeeper confirmed on his social media account that he will officially end his football career after the season, which lasted for 20 years.
"This is my 20th season in professional football and 20 years since I first signed a professional contract. So I feel that now is the right time to announce that I will end my career after the season," wrote P. Čech in his letter.
"During the 15 years I spent in the Premier League and won absolutely everything, I feel like I have achieved what I could. This season I will continue to work hard to win another trophy, and then I will see what life will offer me beyond the field," added the Czech football legend.
P. Čech started his career at Blšany's "Chmel" club, and after two years he moved to Prague's "Sparta". From there, the goalkeeper moved to France, to the "Rennes" club, which eventually offered him a contract in 2004 at "Chelsea".
He spent 11 years in the "Blues" team. He moved to "Arsenal" in 2015 and until this season was the main goalkeeper.
Throughout his club career, P. Čech played 771 matches, of which 443 were in the Premier League.
During his career, one of the best goalkeepers of his generation became the English champion four times, won the UEFA Champions League title once, triumphed five times in the FA Cup, and won many other titles.
