"Premier league money: the six most expensive purchases"

Football world was shaken yesterday by the news that "Liverpool" has acquired center-back Virgil van Dijk from the Netherlands for an impressive sum of money.

The 26-year-old defender has become the most expensive defender in the history of the planet, so the hopes of "Reds" fans for this Dutchman are the highest.

Every year, huge sums are spent on new purchases in the English Premier League, so the foreign press has compiled a list taking one most expensive player from the strongest teams in the country.

"Manchester United" have spent the most from the entire list, laying out 89 million pounds for midfielder Paul Pogba.

In second place is "Liverpool", spending the aforementioned sum for V. van Dijk. In third place is London's "Chelsea", who spent 60 million pounds for Alvaro Morata last summer.

In fourth place is "Manchester City" (Kevin De Bruyne, 55 million pounds), fifth is London's "Arsenal" (Alexandre Lacazette, 46.5 million pounds), and in sixth place is "Tottenham" spending 42 million pounds for defender Davinson Sanchez.
