In the "Premier" League of England, six more matches of the third round were played yesterday. Another victory for the "Arsenal" footballers set a new record of 43 consecutive matches unbeaten.
Races against "Blackburn" cannoners were won with a convincing result. Although the first half ended goalless, in the second T.Henry, G.Silva, and Jose Reyes scored three dry goals. After this victory, "Arsenal" became the tournament leader due to a better goal difference against "Chelsea."
Even playing without four main defenders, "Middlesbrough" won 2-0 away against "Fulham". M.Viduka and S.Nemeth scored goals in the second half of the match. Although this was only the first victory for "Middlesbrough" this season, they climbed to ninth place in the tournament table.
Continuing to successfully play in the championship, "Bolton" footballers won their second victory. In the 27th minute, the guests took the lead 2-0 after goals by Henrik Pedersen and Jay Jay Okocha. Only at the end of the match, Peter Crouch managed to soften the result. "Bolton" is currently third in the "Premier" League, while "Southampton" occupies the fourteenth position.
Debuting quite successfully in the "Premier" League, W.B.A. players played a draw against the ambitious "Tottenham" team. Already in the third minute, the home goalkeeper Zoltan Gera scored a goal. However, in the 34th minute, the visitors' forward Jermain Defoe equalized the result. After these draws, "Tottenham" holds the fifth place, and W.B.A. ranks twelfth.
Quite unexpectedly, "Charlton" footballers easily won their second victory in the championship. In the 29th and 34th minutes, the new player of "Charlton" Francis Jeffers scored two goals, and in the 58th minute of the second half, the hosts further reinforced their advantage after a goal by Luke Young. After the victory, "Charlton" rose to fourth place in the championship, while "Aston Villa" currently holds the tenth position in the tournament table.
Continuing to struggle in the championship, "Newcastle" footballers did not succeed. Although they took the lead 2-0 in the 50th minute after goals by Craig Bellamy and Aaron Hughes, David Bentley softened the result two minutes later, and in the 74th minute, Gary Doherty restored balance, which lasted until the end of the match. So far, the "Newcastle" footballers, without any victories, hold the rather unusual fifteenth place. A step below is the "Norwich" team.
