On Friday, the long-awaited 2018-19 English Premier League season kicked off. The first match took place at Old Trafford stadium, where Manchester United hosted Leicester City footballers. Right at the beginning of the match, Jose Mourinho's team scored a victory with a 2-1 result. In the 2nd minute, the "Red Devils" earned a penalty kick, as Daniel Amartey played the ball with his hand in the penalty box. The penalty was successfully taken by captain Paul Pogba, giving United the advantage. After a quick goal, Manchester United did not press their opponents to score a second goal - Leicester took the initiative and created dangerous chances. The visitors from Leicester had several opportunities, but Manchester United successfully defended their penalty area with David De Gea and Eric Bailly shining in defense. In the second half, the game was similar - Leicester continued to control the ball and tried to respond with a goal, but the "Red Devils" maintained their defense successfully. Later in the game, Manchester United started to create sharper attacks. Substitute Romelu Lukaku had the chance to increase the lead, but couldn't beat Kasper Schmeichel. In the 83rd minute, the hosts unexpectedly scored a second goal and came closer to victory. Luke Shaw, who handled the ball well in the penalty area, sent it into the opponents' goal from an acute angle. It was his first goal for Manchester United. Even after the second goal, Leicester did not give up and managed to score a goal in added time. Ricardo Pereira made a wonderful pass into the penalty area, which Jamie Vardy headed in to reduce the deficit.
