At 5 pm Lithuanian time in the new season of the English Premier League, five matches were played.
Most attention was drawn to the match in Liverpool, where "Everton" faced off against London's "Tottenham" in the stadium filled with their own supporters. After a tight and opportunity-filled match, the teams ended in a draw.
In the 5th minute, Ross Barkley put the hosts ahead with a clever penalty kick, but in the 59th minute, Erik Lamela equalized with a header. Despite Hugo Lloris being injured by the end of the first half, the "Spurs" could have scored a second goal at the end of the match, but the confident "Irish" goalkeeper kept the goal safe.
In the other matches, two clubs secured victories. "Swansea City" defeated league debutants "Burnley" at the very end of the match, and "West Brom" celebrated a win after Rondon's goal against "Crystal Palace" who spent big in the summer.
The remaining two matches ended in an identical scoreline - 1:1. "Stoke City" played out a draw with "Middlesbrough," and "Southampton" shared points with "Watford."
