During a press conference held on Friday at the National Football Academy in Kaunas, the newly established football community club "Kaunas" was presented to the media representatives. The conference discussed the reasons and circumstances behind the creation of the new football club, its connections with the Kaunas football baseball club, and the intricacies of creating other new teams.

According to a representative of the new club, inspired by the example of the Vilnius city football league "Žalgiris," the fan group "Kaunas Ultras" decided not to sit idly by and instead establish a new club representing the temporary capital.

The press representative of the "Kaunas" club, Mindaugas Vasiliauskas, stated that the football community club "Kaunas" has no connections with the Kaunas football baseball club and its administration. The only similarities are the same colors (yellow-green) and a few players who previously played for the Kaunas football baseball club agreed to wear the new team's jerseys.

During the conference, the Vice President of the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) and the President of the Kaunas County Football Federation, Romanas Levinskas, mentioned that over 19 years the Kaunas football baseball club won many titles. However, after initially applying to play in the LFF I league, they later withdrew their application, and there is currently not a single Kaunas team in the country's top football leagues, which he described as a tragedy.

"I congratulate the leaders of the new club for this initiative and understand that to keep the club going, substantial funds are needed. That's why we (LFF) have agreed to meet with business people, and the federation will ask for their contribution to support the new club," said R. Levinskas, promising assistance from the Lithuanian Football Federation.

The head coach of the team, Artūras Ramoška, also congratulated the founders of the new club and expressed his happiness at receiving an offer to join the team, even though the team is currently amateur.

The team's defender, Ričardas Gliožaitis, also expressed his joy at the initiative and decision of the fans to create a new city team and mentioned that a huge responsibility falls on the club.

The football player, who participated in the first official matches of the Kaunas football baseball club in 1994, said that regardless of what is behind the abbreviation FBK, the most important thing is to achieve the level of the former team.

As M. Vasiliauskas, the club's press representative, mentioned, at the moment the football community club "Kaunas" has no sponsors, and the funds raised for the team come only from donations collected by the fans, although some businessmen have already shown interest and expressed a desire to contribute to the club's existence.

According to the founders of the new club, the debut season will be crucial in finding financially strong partners who can help the club implement its strategy and achieve its goals.

The first official "Kaunas" match will take place this Sunday, May 6, at 20:00 in the first field of the National Football Academy in Kaunas, with "Hegelmann Lithuania" as the opponent.
