Armenian football president Ruben Hayrapetyan says that Henrikh Mkhitaryan does not understand why Manchester United strategist Jose Mourinho does not allow him to play.
27-year-old H. Mkhitaryan arrived in Manchester last summer for over 30 million pounds sterling. There were high hopes for him, but the start of the season is not pleasing - he has only played four matches in the Premier League.
The Armenian could not play for some time due to an injury, but he has already recovered, yet he still does not get into the team lineup. J. Mourinho explained that H. Mkhitaryan still needs time to settle in the new life in England and get used to the style of play in this country.
"I do not know what Mourinho is thinking," the country's football leader told the "Armenpress" publication. "I spoke with Mkhitaryan and he also admitted that he does not know what Jose Mourinho is thinking."
"Mkhitaryan is training and is in good shape, but no one knows the reason why he is not playing," added R. Hayrapetyan.
H. Mkhitaryan's statistics in this and the previous season are currently like day and night. Last season, the attacking player scored 23 goals and made 32 assists in 52 matches played.
