Since 2012, the UEFA program will come into force, according to which teams will not be able to spend more on players and salaries than they earn, otherwise risking losing their place in European cup competitions. Initially, a negative balance will be allowed, but the permissible limit will decrease and by 2018 will reach zero.
This will become a headache for not only one club, including the lavish spending Man City and the debt-ridden American Glazer family owned Man Utd.
"When the UEFA financial plans are implemented, it will be a tragedy for such crazy individuals as Tom Hicks and George Gillett (former Liverpool owners) or the Glazer family," said Hoeness.
"A club like Man Utd is in the hands of individuals who have no understanding of football, and that is not good. I hope that banks will not lend as easily as before. Perhaps this will stop owners from irresponsible behavior and the used model: we will buy the club and quickly make a profit."
And he added: "The new UEFA program will be very beneficial for teams like Bayern or Arsenal, which behave financially responsibly and make a profit.
