Munich's "Bayern" president Karl Hopfner defends the club's decision to sell Toni Kroos to Madrid's "Real" club, as he could have left for free next summer.
After the World Cup, Carlo Ancelotti's team was supplemented with the German national team's midfielder for a sum of 25 million euros, who is showing excellent form.
"The board of directors made the right decision regarding the sale of Toni Kroos," said K. Hopfner. "After he refused to extend his contract, we had to make this decision."
"Next summer he could have left our team for free, so our decision is not a bad one," concluded the Bavarian leader.
In the "Real" team, T. Kroos has been indispensable since the beginning of the season and has played five matches.
