Press: "Chapecoense" will win the championship title

Football community and celebrities' condolences, it seems, will be heard. The Brazilian press reports that the title of the "Copa Sudamericana" champions will be given to the plane crash-stricken "Chapecoense" without a fight. Recall that the team that played in the first leg of the final match a couple of days ago suffered a great tragedy - a plane crashed in the mountains, killing 71 people on board, including almost the entire Brazilian team. Tournament organizers intend to consider the desire to hand over the title, but all formalities will take until December 21, when the next "Conmebol" meeting will take place. This decision would allow "Chapecoense" to qualify for the next season's "Copa Libertadores" tournament and compete for the "Supercopa Euroamericana" trophy. This would reminiscent of the situation that arose in 1949 when "Serie A" clubs awarded the league champions' titles to the plane crash-affected "Torino".
