Having started the season poorly, London's "Chelsea" is preparing to shake up the market - to acquire Turin's "Juventus" defender Alex Sandro for a record sum.
The "Blues" have been monitoring the 26-year-old left-back throughout the summer. According to various media sources, "Chelsea" has tried to start negotiations with "Juventus" several times, but any offer for the Brazilian was rejected by the Italian team.
At one point, it seemed inevitable that the Brazilian would arrive in London, but recently talks have quieted down, and in Italy it was even announced that the defender will sign a new contract with "Juventus."
However, according to the "Evening Standard," "Chelsea's" interest in A. Sandro has not disappeared, and in the near future, they promise to make a £61 million offer to the Italian champions.
"Juventus" had previously stated that the Brazilian is not for sale, but the impressive sum and the defender's desire to leave the team could change the opinion of the leaders of the "Old Lady."
"Chelsea" is offering the former "Porto" defender a weekly salary of £100,000, £16,000 less than what "Juventus" offers.
