Earlier this week, the main daily newspaper of the Spanish capital, "Marca," announced that Madrid's "Real" club and David De Gea had reached an agreement for the goalkeeper's move to the champions of the UEFA Champions League.
According to the aforementioned source, "Real" was supposed to announce D. De Gea's move at the end of this week, but it seems that the high price of the goalkeeper (75 million euros) and Zinedine Zidane's word changed all of the plans of the "white" management to have a compatriot in their team.
The same source now indicates that Z. Zidane, before leaving on vacation, had a conversation with Florentino Perez and discussed the team's transfer plans for this summer.
Z. Zidane's desire was clear - to keep Keylor Navas and his deputy Kiko Casilla in the team. The coach trusts the Costa Rican and does not want to bring unnecessary tension to the team, as all the players expressed huge support for K. Navas and want him to continue wearing the "white" jersey.
It seems that "Real" will finally give up the possibility of acquiring D. De Gea. Z. Zidane will appoint his son Luca as the third goalkeeper on the second team, and in the near future hopes to start negotiations with "Milan" for Gianluigi Donnarumma to arrive in Madrid in the summer of 2018.
Z. Zidane told the club's management that he does not want major changes this summer but is inclined to maintain the same core. Of course, the team will leave Pepe and Fabio Coentrao, but replacements have already been found for them - young talents Jesus Vallejo and Theo Hernandez.
The defensive line will be strengthened by the club's talent Marcos Llorente, who performed brilliantly on loan at "Alaves." Z. Zidane will also not seek a replacement for the likely departing James Rodriguez, as a bigger role will be given to the promising Marco Asensio.
The only dilemma is the striker position. Z. Zidane will try to convince Alvaro Morata to stay in Madrid, but if the striker is not convinced by the coach's promises, he is likely to move to England. However, even in that case, "Real" will not immediately start hunting for another striker, and they will try to acquire Kylian Mbappe only if Gareth Bale leaves the team - which is not very likely at the moment.
