The defender of the Mexican national team and the Spanish champions club Rafael Marquez will have to miss the last three "Primera" league matches due to bad news about a thigh injury.
The team's medical staff predicted that the Mexican legionnaire will rejoin his team mates before the end of the season, as he strained his right leg muscle on April 29th.
However, this did not prove true and the 28-year-old player needed another examination after being forced to leave the team's training session yesterday. Tests revealed that he suffered a new injury in the same leg and therefore will be unable to take the field for several weeks.
The captain of the Mexican national team will have to accept that he will miss the remaining three matches of the Spanish "La Liga" championship, where "Barca" aims to win their third consecutive title - the defender will miss the match against , the derby against another Barcelona team, and the last match of the season against the underdog Tarragona.
The Catalans coached by Frank Rijkaard currently hold the 2nd place in the country's championship and have the same amount of points as the Madrid club.
