FIFA can remove Israel from international football © scanpix

Israel football faces the threat of being removed from international tournaments.

"The Telegraph" writes that the Palestinian Football Association has proposed FIFA to impose a strict punishment on Israelis.

This call is supported by the football associations of Algeria, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, and Yemen.

Truth be told, FIFA currently does not plan to vote on this issue at the annual congress taking place this week, and the decision will be postponed to July.

President of the global organization Gianni Infantino stated:

"Football should never and can never become a hostage of politics. The essence of this sport must always remain a vector of peace, a source of hope, a force for good that unites people."
