Brazilian footballer Juninho has extended his contract with the French champions club for another two years and will stay here until the summer of 2010.
The 32-year-old defender arrived in Lyon in 2001 from his homeland club "Vasca de Gama" and helped "Lyon" win six consecutive French championship titles. Juninho, known for his impressive penalty kicks, has already represented the French club 259 times, scored 77 goals, including 32 penalty kicks.
In addition, the Brazilian was also named the best player in the French championship in 2005 - 2006.
Juninho also played 44 times for his country's national team, scoring 7 goals.
This is not the only good news for the "Lyon" legionnaire this week - a few days ago, his daughter Raphaela was born.
