After finishing the season unsuccessfully, the Munich club added another footballer to their ranks - Marcel Jansen from , who finished last in the Bundesliga. The footballer's contract with Monchengladbach club was still valid for two more seasons, but the team, which dropped to a lower division, decided not to obstruct the 21-year-old defender's transfer to the famous club. The transfer fee is not disclosed.

M. Jansen, who has already represented the Germany national team 14 times, signed a four-year contract with the Munich club.

"I want to thank "Gladbach" for taking into account my wishes and agreeing to transfer me to "Bayern". I feel a great sense of gratitude towards "Gladbach" and hope that this team will quickly return to the Bundesliga," said the defender.

This season has been unusually unsuccessful for "Bayern" - the former champions in the German league finished only in 4th place, did not qualify for the Champions League tournament, and will have to settle for the UEFA Cup competition next season.

M. Jansen became the fourth "Bayern" acquisition before the new season - previously the club added Hamit Altintop, Jan Schlaudraff, and Jose Ernesto Sosa.
