During the meeting of the Šiauliai County Football Federation, two out of the three candidates proposed for the regular conference of the Lithuanian Football Federation were elected. The members of the county federation gave 14 votes to the representative of the Lithuanian Football Federation in Šiauliai County, Anatolij Stacenko, 9 votes to the football referee and coach Deivis Kančelskis, and 7 votes were received by the president of the Šiauliai County Federation, Jonas Zolubas. A. Stacenko and D. Kančelskis will represent Šiauliai County at the Lithuanian Football Federation conference, which will take place on June 16th.
During the discussion of the county football championship, it was noted that there are 13 teams participating in the Šiauliai County championship, second only to Vilnius County in terms of the number of teams. However, there is a lack of active attention from the federation leadership to these competitions. At the end of the meeting, a letter signed by representatives of the Šiauliai County football community was read to the president of the county federation, expressing thoughts about the negligent activities of the Šiauliai County Federation.
Federation members openly expressed discontent with the actions of president Jonas Zolubas, who was elected president of the Šiauliai County Federation for the second time in 1997, with no elections held for this position since then. It was decided to hold another meeting after the Lithuanian Football Federation conference, on June 22nd. At that time, based on the proposals of the LFF, the activities of the Šiauliai County Federation will be reorganized.
