For the second year in a row, the round of sixteen stage ended unsuccessfully - "Žalgiris" lost to the Vilnius district team "Transinvest" as guests and withdrew from the "FPRO LFF Cup" tournament.

In the second half, Žalgiris shook the goal frame three times, until finally breaking through and taking the lead in the middle of the second half with a goal from Romualdas Jansonas. However, the opponents equalized the score at the Širvintos stadium after a penalty kick, and then scored a second goal from a corner kick (1:2).

There were three changes in the starting lineup of the capital club. R. Jansonas and A. Hodžičius played in attack from the beginning, while J. Kendyš returned to the central defense.

"Transinvest" started the match aggressively and in the 3rd minute, R. Sato hit a shot from a distance, which the goalkeeper had to fend off, and later H. Devens' shot from inside the penalty area was saved by the goalkeeper.

In the middle of the half, Hodžičius headed towards goal, the hosts tried to score with long shots from E. Stočkūnas and P. Kiselevskis, while in Žalgiris' attack, S. Moschino saved the goal after a shot from L. Fernandes.

At the end of the half, A. Tordai had to defend his goal once again.

In the second half, A. Fofana, who appeared after a substitution, could have scored immediately, but his shot hit the post, and the follow-up attempt by P. Golubickas was off target.

In the 50th minute, the ball flew past the goal after a shot by H. Devenso.

In the 55th minute, the opponents' goalkeeper saved A. Fofana's shot.

In the 60th minute, Žalgiris were twice close to scoring, but both A. Fofana and P. Golubickas' shots hit the goal frame.

However, soon they managed to score on the counterattack - L. Fernandes found P. Golubickas with a long pass and after a cross, R. Jansonas scored from close range.

In the 70th minute, A. Fofana threatened the opponents' goal again, and in the 75th minute, A. Tordai saved a dangerous shot from L. Pilibaitis.

In the 78th minute, the opponents equalized - after a long shot from E. Stočkūnas, the ball hit J. Kendyš's back and entered the corner of the goal.

A few minutes later, "Transinvest" earned a corner and R. Šveikauskas headed the ball accurately into the goal.

At the end of the match, Žalgiris failed to break through the opponents' goal line - it is time to end their tournament appearance.

On Sunday, the teams will meet again in the "Topsport A League".
