In the 7th round of the country's football I league matches, Gargždai's "Banga" celebrated an impressive victory, crushing Tauragė's "Taura" 9-0 and winning their first victory. "Vilkmergė" also celebrated a crushing victory in the round.
Quite abundantly – about 700 gathered spectators in Gargždai finally witnessed their first home team victory. Unable to achieve victory in 6 matches and increasingly criticized, "Banga" simply broke through on Sunday, sending 9 balls into "Taura" goal. Three goals were scored by Aurelijus Staponka. The crushing defeats, it seems, may no longer surprise Tauragės – in this championship, they have already lost 0-6 to "Nevėžis" and 1-7 to "Vilkmergė". In total, in 7 matches, the ball visited the "Taura" goal line 27 times.
"Vilkmergė" celebrated another crushing victory, defeating Klaipėda's "Glestum" 6-1. The Ukmergė team, nurturing plans to join the winners, moved up to the 7th position after this success.
In the Kaunas derby, "Kauno jėgeriai" and "Rodiklis" drew, while Pakruojis "Kruoja" suffered their first defeat, losing to "Alytis" and losing their leader positions.
The sole leader again became "Nevėžis", easily defeating "LKKA" at home. Before the match, heavy rain poured down, after which the condition of the Kėdainiai stadium field was tragic – puddles in several places on the field made it more resemble a mud bath. Nevertheless, after a short break, "Nevėžis" gathered their strongest players again and celebrated a victory with a score of 3-0.
Another setback hit "Anykščiai", who lost to "Lietava". The team from Jonava started the match very actively and hit the crossbar during one of their first attacks. The successful play of the goalkeeper of the Anykščiai club, Modestas Petrauskas, prevented the guests from scoring an early goal. The game calmed down towards the end of the first half, although "Lietava" attacked and shot at goal more often.
Anykščiai started the second half more actively. They scored a goal, but the referee did not count it, signaling an offside. However, soon after the interval, M. Valančiūnas appeared on the field and scored. However, after 15 minutes, the score was level when Vaidotas Šlekys equalized with a precise header, who had previously represented "Ekranas".
At the end of the match, the Jonava team were reduced to ten players when M. Regelskis received a second yellow card. Despite this, the hosts suffered another painful blow – at the end of the match, Denis Šichranovas snatched the victory for the Jonava team. After the match, the losers did not hide their disappointment not only with the result but also with what they saw as poor refereeing.
It is worth noting that "Lietava" scored 2 goals for the first time this season. Nevertheless, Jonavieciai currently share the 4-5 places with "Kauno jėgeriai".
