In the 19th round of the "TOPsport A Lyga", the third Kaunas derby of the season took place. "Kauno Žalgiris" players 4:1 (2:1) confidently defeated another city team "Hegelmann".

In the 6th minute of the match after a pass from Žan Benedičičius, David Martin Anane struck dangerously close, but the ball flew over Arijaus Bražinskas’ goal.

In the 20th minute of the match, the first goal of the meeting fell - Aldayras Hernandez won the aerial duel and passed the ball to Filipas Dangubičius, who skillfully shot from the crossbar to put Žalgiris ahead.

For a long time, "Kauno Žalgiris" players did not enjoy a minimal advantage - after a corner kick from Patric Popescu, Michael Thuique equalized with a header.

In the 30th minute, P. Popescu struck dangerously from outside the penalty area, but Deividas Mikelionis successfully saved, and a few moments later the Romanian missed the goal from close range.

At the end of the first half, the "Hegelmann" players created a wonderful attack, but it was not crowned with success by M. Thuique's shot. Just before the end of the half, Saulius Širmelis' pupils managed to turn the score in their favor - a beautiful combination ended with Gratas Sirgėdas' precise shot.

The second half of the match started according to the hosts' scenario - during a quick counterattack after G. Sirgėdas' pass, former "Hegelmann" player F. Dangubičius scored accurately.

In the 62nd minute, Žalgiris players began to dominate the opponents - another fast attack and another goal from F. Dangubičius allowed the hosts to accumulate a three-goal advantage. As the match approached the end, both teams had opportunities to change the score on the scoreboard, but they failed to capitalize on their chances.

With this victory, S. Širmelis' pupils rose to third place with 28 points, while the team led by Andrius Skerla remained in second place after suffering a defeat.
