The Portuguese national team defeated the Slovenian national team after a penalty shootout.

39-year-old Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo said after the match that this is his last European Championship:

"This European Championship is the last in my career... It is obvious."

"I wanted to apologize to the national team's supporters. I always give my all for these colors, regardless of whether I am successful or not. And I have been doing that all my life. One must take responsibility."

In the quarterfinals, the Portuguese will face the French national team.
