The new "Liverpool" team coach Arne Slot held his first official press conference on Friday.
The 45-year-old Dutchman replaced club legend Jurgen Klopp at the helm of "Liverpool."
In his first press conference, A. Slot emphasized that his team must take a step forward if they want to continue competing for trophies.
“In this league, all teams are constantly improving, so we must do the same if we want to remain competitive. It is completely normal, as we are talking about the best league in the world,” said A. Slot.
After J. Klopp's decision to step down, there were many discussions about possible departures of "Liverpool" veterans. However, A. Slot himself emphasized that age is not the most important aspect for him.
“I simply like good players. Whether they are young or older - there is no difference.
Of course, it is always nice to see young prospects rising through the club's pyramid. It provides additional motivation for the club itself.
However, ultimately we are talking about the players' abilities and level. If young players properly show themselves, they will certainly get their chances,” added A. Slot.
