O. Verbickas: "We must be even more productive at home"

On Thursday, the "Žalgiris" team will face the return leg of the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round in Vilnius. After defeating the VPS team 2-1 in Finland, the Vilnius team will aim to do the same at home.

"In the return leg, everything will be decided for both teams. Everyone will be determined to achieve their goals. We will respect our opponents. Our goal is to implement the match plan," briefly said Žalgiris coach Vladimir Čeburinas.

"The second leg is always different because teams know each other. But we play at home. Everything is in our hands, it's our walls, our fans. The team understands the importance of the battle ahead," said team captain Ovidijus Verbickas.

According to V. Čeburinas, every "Žalgiris" home game in Europe is a special celebration because of the support from the fans.

"Home games are always enjoyable. Our fans provide great support. We are very grateful to them. They believe in the team, they love it. This is an additional stimulus for us. Home games add responsibility. Our fans also traveled to Finland and supported us very well," said the coach.

After the first leg, the Vilnius club has a goal advantage, but according to O. Verbickas, they should approach these matches as individual battles.

"We should not focus on the result of the first leg. One goal is very slippery. I think we need to be even more fired up, because this is our stadium. I believe there will be many fans to support us. The team will be fired up from the first minutes," promised the defender.
