Panevėžys achieved an honorable result against the Israeli champions

"Panevėžys" team had an unsuccessful start in the UEFA Europa League qualifying tournament.

The A league champions lost 1:2 to Tel Aviv's "Maccabi" team at the LFF stadium.

The Israeli champions started the match very successfully and by the 10th minute had a two-goal lead (3' D. Peretz, 10' D. Turgeman).

However, "Panevėžys" did not give up and scored a consolation goal in the second half (70' S. Gussias), achieving an honorable result.

The return match will be played on August 5 at Hungary's "Haladas Sportkomplexum" stadium.
