In the 27th round of the "TOPsport A Lyga," Vilnius "Žalgiris" secured a difficult victory, adding it to their account. The championship leaders won 2:1 (1:1) at home against the once-leading Telšiai "Džiugas."

The first half was filled with dangerous moments near both goals. Nino Noordanus attacked threateningly, while Dejanas Trajkovskis defended against Liviu Antal's shot at the last moment.

"Džiugas" took the lead in the 37th minute when Ibrahimas Cisse sent the ball into the net after a corner kick. The visitors had more great opportunities – Christian Bella shot close to the target, and Leif Estevez hit the post.

Žalgiris managed to equalize in the 42nd minute – after a pass from a Žalgiris player, I. Cisse mishandled, and L. Antalis, scoring his 11th goal, took advantage of the chance.

After the break, the Vilnius side played more successfully in defense; however, once luck smiled upon them when Dominykas Kubilinskas, who came on as a substitute, failed to convert a good opportunity. Furthermore, the midfielder committed a foul in his own penalty area, but Joel Bopesu saved the day, with Marius Paukštė returning to the team to make the stop.

Finally, "Žalgiris" achieved their goal in the 82nd minute. During a quick counterattack, J. Bopesu provided a pass from the left flank, which Giedrius Matulevičius capitalized on.
