Milan's coach Alberto Zaccheroni submitted his resignation statement yesterday, which was accepted today, as reported on the club's official website.
Zaccheroni, who replaced the dismissed Hector Cuper last October, spent only eight months with the team, during which he managed to lead the club to fourth place in the Italian championship.
"I'm stepping down because despite the belief of President Giacinto Facchetti in me, I don't have support from the club. I am also leaving because no one informs me about what we are doing in the transfer market. It's shameful because if I had been given a full season, I am sure we would have had a good chance of success. My past shows that whenever I had the opportunity to work a full season, results were never lacking," Zaccheroni expressed his bitterness to the newspaper "Corriere dello Sport."
It is believed that today the new coach of the team could be appointed as Roberto Mancini. He could then bring some players with him to "Inter," but the clubs would need to agree on the transfer fee.
