The Polish football referees who caused an unbelievable scandal heard their punishments.
This summer, a UEFA Champions League match between Kyiv's Dinamo and Glasgow Rangers was not only in the headlines due to events on the green field.
Just before the match, it was announced that two VAR referees, Bartosz Frankowski and Tomasz Musial, had been suspended.
It turned out that the night before the match, the referees had drunk so much that they were wandering the streets drunk and even stole a road sign. Arriving officials confirmed these facts and took the referees, along with another man, to a detox center.
Now it has been announced that the Polish referees will not be able to work during matches for five months, and they will be closely monitored for another two years. If the offense is repeated, the current penalty will be extended by seven months.
Furthermore, the revelers will be required to pay fines of 25,000 zlotys (almost 6,000 euros) each.
