Rodrygo's disappointment about the Ballon d'Or nominations: 'I should be among the top 30'

Last week, 30 candidates were announced who are vying for the prestigious Ballon d'Or award.

This list did not include Madrid's Real and Brazilian national team player Rodrygo.

This decision by the election organizers greatly surprised the player himself, who initially reacted to it on social media, and now spoke about it while communicating with ESPN.

"I am disappointed; I think I deserve a place on that list. I don't want to undermine any player, but I should be among the top 30. It was a real surprise for me.

However, there is not much I can do about it. I am not the one making this list," said Rodrygo.

The footballer is also convinced that his playing style hinders him in such elections.

"Most of the time, I try to fill gaps on the pitch. I am a team player, and that may hinder me in such elections," added Rodrygo.
