While football fans eagerly await the start of construction for the national stadium, new pitches are popping up in Vilnius and the surrounding areas like mushrooms after the rain.
It has been announced that 1.8 million euros will be invested in the covered stadium rising in Riešė, and the project is managed by "Vilniaus išmanioji akademija".
The work is progressing at a rapid pace, and the first matches could take place within a few weeks.
“We want to share news with the representatives of football clubs about the newly opened covered football pitch and are sharing a letter from their representatives.
We are active members of the football community and are pleased to contribute to the development and popularization of this sport. Our newly opened football pitch on Molėtų road, located 14 km from the center of Vilnius (at the Riešė intersection), is intended for all football enthusiasts, professionals, and clubs looking to reserve training and match times. This location will be a center of attraction for football enthusiasts and emerging football talents, so we invite you to join our newly forming community. We are confident that this pitch can become your club's new favorite choice for training and competition venues. We would like to emphasize that all facilities meet the highest standards and are ready to host teams of various levels. The full-size stadium (115m x 79m), with artificial turf and an amortized surface has been prepared. Therefore, we would like to offer you the opportunity to reserve time in advance and become acquainted with our pitch services and cooperation terms. The opening of the football pitch is scheduled for September,” the announcement states.
