Aftermath of the scandal: 'Dainava' issued a statement, police launched an investigation

On September 20, a match took place at the Alytus city stadium where DFK "Dainava" competed against FK "Sūduva".

At the end of the first half, an incident occurred outside the football field involving the referee, after which the match commissioner Romas Elsner announced that the match was being suspended.

The police will conduct a further investigation into the incident.

"We want to clearly state that the Dzūkija football club "Dainava" takes a firm stance and has never tolerated, does not tolerate, and will not tolerate or justify any violence.

We thank the spectators who support our club and who adhere to discipline without violating the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.

Further decisions will be made by the Disciplinary Committee of the Lithuanian Football Federation," - it is stated in the press release from the "Dainava" team.
