A true football thriller took place in Leverkusen – "Bayer" defeated "Wolfsburg" 4:3.

In a fluctuating match, "Wolfsburg" initially took the lead. Goals by Florian Wirtz and Jonathan Tah in the 14th and 32nd minutes respectively allowed the hosts to go ahead.

Before halftime, "Wolfsburg" surged ahead again – goals were scored by Sebastiaan Bornauw and Mathias Svanberg.

In the 48th minute, Piero Hincapie equalized the score.

Before added time, Yannick Gerhardt received a red card for unsporting behavior. Remaining in the majority, the "Bayer" players celebrated victory after a goal by Victor Boniface.
