E. Stankevičius on the national team's upcoming trouble: 'This concert event blocks all paths' © lff.lt

The Lithuanian national football team will most likely have to look for temporary homes again.

After a scandal earlier this year, when Edgaras Jankauskas' team had to move to Marijampolė due to the damage caused to the pitch at Darius and Girėnas Stadium during concerts, similar events may occur next year.

In June, a concert by music star Justin Timberlake will take place at the Kaunas Arena.

"This concert throws a wrench in all plans. The concert is on June 6, and the national team's window is from June 2 to 10. We can have games either on the 5th or 6th or on the 9th or 10th. Even if there were a game on June 9, there would physically be no time to dismantle the stage and prepare the stadium," – said Edgaras Stankevičius, the president of the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF), to LRT journalist Ugnė Barauskienė about the situation.
