"Atletico Madrid" has signed a five-year contract with goalkeeper Leonardo Franco. The purchase price and other contract terms have not been disclosed, but the club confirmed on their official website that Leo Franco will be wearing the Madrid club's jersey. It is expected that the 27-year-old goalkeeper will be a good replacement for current "Atletico" goalkeeper Sergio Sanchez. Former second goalkeeper for the Madrid club, German Burgosas, was released last month. Argentinian Leo Franco moved to "Mallorca" 6 years ago from the "Merida" club and has managed to play in more than 150 matches through them. Franco revealed to journalists that he has always wanted to play in the capital. "This is a very important step in my life. I am joining a team I have always wanted to play for," Leo said. Franco is the second acquisition for "Atletico" this summer. Recently, defender Luis Perea arrived at the club from "Boca Juniors."
