Lithuania can boast one of the strongest homeless football teams in the world, although many may not have even heard of it. The team recently secured third place at the world championships.
In Seoul, South Korea, the Lithuanians lost to Mexico in the semifinals, which later became world champions for the fifth time. In the small final, Lithuanian footballers defeated Indonesia with a score of 2:1 and fought for medals for the first time, while last June Lithuania became the European homeless football champion.
This championship can only include players over the age of 16 who have never participated in this tournament before and who are currently undergoing treatment for addiction. Participants must also have been homeless for the last two years.
