"Manchester United” suffered another painful defeat at home on Sunday.
This time, the "Red Devils” had to concede to London’s "Tottenham” with a score of 0:3.
"Man Utd” played with one man less for more than a half of this match, as team captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off the pitch with a direct red card while the score was still 0:1.
The Portuguese player expressed regret after the match for leaving his team short-handed, but claimed that the referee made a mistake in showing him a red card in that situation.
In that situation, I simply slipped. The foul was not as it was tried to portray. The contact was with my ankle, not my foot.
It was an obvious foul, but it was not worth a red card. Maddison himself admitted that after standing up,” B. Fernandes said while speaking to BBC and Sky Sports.
This red card means that "Man Utd” captain will miss the next three Premier League matches against "Aston Villa,” "Brentford,” and "West Ham United.”
