On Tuesday, in the UEFA Champions League tournament, London’s Arsenal faced a tough challenge.
The "Gunners" clashed at home against Paris Saint-Germain.
In the early stages of the match, neither team created particularly dangerous moments, and midway through the first half, the gameplay calmed down even more.
However, this was the calm before the storm – L. Trossard broke through towards the penalty area and made a great pass to K. Havertz, who directed the ball into the net with his head – 1:0.
Upon recovering, the visitors tried to equalize, but both B. Barcola and N. Mendes lacked precision.
In the 35th minute, Arsenal scored a comical goal – B. Saka delivered a pass into the penalty area, and the ball rolled into the net guarded by G. Donnarumma without touching anything (2:0).
In the 52nd minute, G. Martinelli squandered a chance to definitively determine the outcome of the match, failing to outsmart the PSG goalkeeper.
In the 65th minute, the guests wasted an opportunity to reduce the deficit – after J. Neves' shot, the ball hit the crossbar.
The match ended with an Arsenal victory of 2:0, while PSG is currently among the tournament's mediocre teams.
