UEFA Youth League - historic victory for Žalgiris youth, determining the match against Man Utd

In the UEFA Youth League, the "Žalgiris" youth team achieved a historic victory – they defeated the Welsh youth champion "The New Saints" with an aggregate score of 7:2 and advanced further, where they will meet the English giant "Manchester United".

The first match against "The New Saints" in Vilnius ended with a score of 3:2 in favor of the Žalgiris team.

In the second match in Oswestry, Patrikas Matyžonokas scored two goals for the Lithuanian youth champions, and after the break, Romualdas Jansonas scored twice.
This is the first time a Lithuanian club has progressed past the first stage of the UEFA Youth League.

The first matches of the second round are preliminarily scheduled for October 23 in Vilnius and November 6 in England.
