M. Cucurella: 'People think I have to earn 50 goals and make 50 assists'

London's Chelsea club defender Marc Cucurella spoke to the Guardian about the criticism directed at him and the difficult start at the "aristocrats":

"To be honest, it was a tough time... With many players, many coaches. It seemed that it was all my fault.

People think I’m a machine and I have to score 50 goals and provide as many assists. Clubs agree on transfer fees, and that has nothing to do with me."

Marc Cucurella became a European champion this summer.
