"In the 'TOPsport A League', Alytus DFK 'Dainava' secured their survival for the next season and will compete for the 4th place in the last round. In the postponed 26th round match, the Dainava players defeated the bronze medalists 'Kauno Žalgiris' 1:0 (0:0) away.

In the first half, the hosts had two excellent chances to score. After confusing the opponents in the penalty area, Vilius Armanavičius and Antonas Fase both missed the target; the first shot wide, while the second hit the post.

On the other side of the pitch, 'Kauno Žalgiris' goalkeeper Deividas Mikelionis had his work cut out for him. The Kaunas player caught a shot from Renato Banevičius and dealt with a long-range attempt by Artiomas Baftalovskis.

After the break, the Žalgiris team struggled to break through the dense defense of their opponents. Both teams exchanged long-range shots: Ode Abdullahi forced D. Mikelionis into action, while V. Armanavičius failed to find the target. At one point, Divine Naah made a serious mistake near the penalty area, but his teammates rectified the situation.

In the middle of the second half, Aaron Olugbogi struck close to the goal, and the winning goal came in the 73rd minute. During a counterattack, D. Mikelionis made an error, and the ball ended up in the net after a shot from Ukrainian Artem Bilo. The Kaunas club became more active towards the end of the match – after coming on as a substitute, Gratas Sirgėdas headed the ball towards the goalkeeper.

The Žalgiris team will finish the championship in third place, with 54 points, while 'Dainava' rises to 4th place with 42 points.
