With prestigious awards accumulating, Cristiano Ronaldo's cabinet has been enriched with yet another trophy.
The five-time winner of the "Ballon d'Or" was honored at an event by the Portuguese Football Federation, which was also attended by the country's Prime Minister, Luis Montenegro.
The representative of the "Al Nassr" club was presented with the "Platinum Quinas" prize.
"It is a great honor for me to receive such an award. I wanted to thank the football federation for recognizing such a long journey filled with hard work."
"When I was 18, I dreamed of my first call-up to the national team. Later, I aimed for my 25th, 50th, and 100th appearance for the national team. Then I set my sights on even bigger numbers – it’s an incredible feeling," the forward spoke emotionally.
He also praised the current president of the federation: "Just look – we have everything: stadiums, incredible coaches, rising stars. Not just in football, but in other sports as well. Fernando Gomes is the best president of all time."
In the Portugal national team, C. Ronaldo has played 216 matches and scored 133 goals. The player's outstanding performances contributed to Portugal's triumph in the "Euro 2016" and the 2019 Nations League tournaments.
