The football club "Panevėžys" and 51-year-old head coach Stijn Vreven will not collaborate next year. At the end of this season, the club and S. Vreven had the opportunity to extend the contract for another year, but both sides did not take up this option.
The football specialist from Belgium took over the reins of "Panevėžys" at the end of May and made his debut at the meeting against FA "Šiauliai" on June 1st.
S. Vreven led the team in four tournaments – "TOPsport A league" and the qualifying matches for the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League. During 30 matches with the Belgian at the helm, Panevėžys achieved 8 victories, 10 draws, and 12 losses. Almost half of the defeats were suffered in international competitions.
Among the most memorable victories are the triumph of 3:0 against Helsinki HJK and the opportunity to compete in the second round of the Champions League qualifying tournament.
The football club "Panevėžys" thanks head coach S. Vreven for his professionalism and wishes him success in his future career challenges.
