The leader of the Portugal national team, Cristiano Ronaldo, does not hesitate to invest money in various areas.
As reported by "Sportsin", the 39-year-old sniper has decided to acquire 100% of the shares of the "Racket Center" in Lisbon.
According to Ricardo Oliveira, the president of the Portuguese Padel Federation (FPP), C. Ronaldo's arrival in padel "will change the direction of the sport not only in his country but also worldwide."
In the Southern European country, over 300,000 people play padel, and this number, according to the FPP, could grow to 500,000 due to the so-called "C. Ronaldo effect."
The athlete's interest in this sport is not new - sources close to him state that the footballer plays padel daily.
C. Ronaldo's influence on sports is undeniable - the athlete has more than 1 billion followers on social media, who track his every move.
R. Oliveira even hinted during the conversation that in the future, tennis courts could be replaced by padel courts, which are already played by at least 30 million people worldwide.
